Randys room

Randy Cunningham's Room is the only part of his house that was frequently seen in the series.

Description[]

Randy's bedroom is a small compartment which is located at the top floor of the old Cunningham house, separated by a blue door. It is painted in greenish white walls, with brown roof frames on its ceiling. It has a dark grayish blue framed bunk bed with white mattress, pillow and blue blanket, a Prussian blue couch, a round wooden table, a television, a square purple floor mat, and shelves made out of different materials. It also has a built-in closet on one of the walls. There are also grayish blue shelves for placing more items.

In Season One, his room was darker, there were more posters on the wall, and there was a desk with a desktop computer below his bunk bed. There was a light brown ladder attached to his bunk bed.

In Season Two, the room was much brighter, the window was opened more often, the walls no longer had hanging posters and instead had a basketball hoop, and a dartboard. The desk below the bunk bed was replaced with decorations, an orange couch, and a green beanbag. The bunk bed no longer had the ladder attached. It would also have an additional boombox with Randy's first name engraved onto it.

It is probable that Randy has gotten a bigger room after he has moved to his new house by the end of the series.

History[]

It was first seen in "Last Stall on the Left" when Randy and Howard were playing Grave Puncher, Grave Puncher II and Grave Puncher 3. Howard also played Grave Puncher 4 on Randy's television in "House of 1,000 Boogers."

In "Last Stall on the Left," Randy first discovered the Ninja Mask, Ninja Suit, and NinjaNomicon on a round wooden table in his room, where The Creep had left them for him.

In "Attack of the Killer Potatoes," he and Howard used the Fart Box here. In "House of 1,000 Boogers", Randy and Howard punched themselves here in order to go to the Bash Splash.

Randy was also seen sitting on his bunker bed in "Viva El Nomicon" at the end of the episode, apologizing to the Nomicon.

In "Welcome Back Catfish", after Randy and Howard retrieved one of the power balls from the possessed Catfish Booray, Randy started using his room as a place to hide away the dangerous orbs.

Trivia[]

  • Only Randy's, Howard's, Bucky's, Bash's, and Slimovitz's rooms have been seen so far.
  • The dining room in "Sword Quest" and the bathroom in "Randy Cunningham's Day Off" are the other parts seen in Randy's old house, but not as frequent as his bedroom.
  • From the view of Randy's room, there are some objects in there that are Chinese or Japanese (chopsticks on his table, pictures of samurai and other Asian swords, and a hanging scroll on the wall between his bed and door). This could indicate Randy is Asian, possibly Japanese, or just has an appreciation for Asian culture possibly from his interest in the Ninja.
    • When asked for a translation of the hanging scroll in a reddit question a translator replied that there is no meaning behind the writing on the scroll — it is "just meaningless strokes." It is very likely that it was added simply as a decoration.
  • The license plate on the wall reading "7 SAMRAI" is probably a reference to Akira Kurosawa's 1954 film, Seven Samurai (七人の侍, Shichinin no Samurai), a classic of Japanese film-making.
  • An electric keyboard can be seen in Randy's room, implying that he can play it as well, making it the third musical instrument he knows how to play besides his keytar and The Ninja Ukulele.
  • In an early concept art of the room showed that at some point during development, Randy would own two cats, (brown and black, respectively) as well as, an electronic guitar.
  • The flashback during "Ninja Camp" of six-year-old Randy and Howard shows that Randy's room was much different when he was a smaller kid. The walls were light purple, and there were also toys placed inside the room. The floor mat was green instead of purple as well.
